Introducing the home of the next generation of Olympians, All-Americans, World Champions and Hall of Fame athletes from Santa Clara University. Made possible by lead funding of $15 million from Stephen C. ’60 and Patricia A. Schott, and $10 million from Mary ’84 and Mark Stevens, the Athletic Excellence Center is a state-of-the-art facility for Bronco student-athletes that is envisioned to break ground by 2019.

The planned two-story building will provide dedicated space to work out, train, practice, eat and study together— while also opening up much-needed facility options for events and for all students participating in club and intramural sports. It will feature two practice gymnasiums; a 9,000-square-foot Bronco Bench Foundation Sports Performance Center; a 4,200-square-foot Stevens Academic Center with study rooms and computer space; a nutrition station; and an 8,000-square-foot sports medicine center.

Stevens Academic Center
With 4,200 square feet of space, the Stevens Academic Center will consist of unique areas to study, an outdoor balcony, open lobby study areas, large and small group study rooms, computer stations, and staff offices.
Bronco Bench Foundation (BBF) Sports Performance Center
The Bronco Bench Foundation Sports Performance Center will feature 9,000 square feet, quadrupling the current facility, that will have space for weight training, cardio equipment, stretching and plyometrics, along with coaches offices and workspaces.
Sports Medicine Center
A 8,000-square-foot sports medicine center features areas for treatment and rehabilitation, as well as medical offices. There will also be a hydrotherapy room, which will include hot and cold pools and an underwater treadmill.
