LOS ANGELES – Annie Eldredge of Santa Clara women's water polo earned the league's top weekly honor for her performance in Saturday's road win.
Eldredge was named the Golden Coast Conference (GCC) Player of the Week after helping lead the Broncos to a 13-8 triumph against Sonoma State.
The senior tallied three goals, two assists and a career-high six steals. She scored twice during an 8-1 scoring run that comprised 13 minutes of game action ending midway through the fourth quarter.
Eldredge, who has a league-high 19 assists, also drew a kickout late in the second quarter after the Seawolves pulled within one goal. Kelly Frumkin scored with 17 seconds on the clock on the ensuing possession to begin Santa Clara's game-changing offensive flurry.
It marked the first league weekly honor of Eldredge's career.
