March 23, 2010

The Santa Clara's women's tennis is ranked No. 74 by the ITA this week. It is the second time in school history the women have been ranked. The Broncos are 10-3 and 3-2 in the WCC.

The complete list of rankings can be found at ITAtennis.com.

"I am really proud of the women. They have earned this," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "This was definitely one of our goals this season and we certainly want to continue playing well this year. We believe this is a great sign of even better things to come in the next few years."

The Bronco women play UC Riverside at home on Sat., March 27 at 10 am.

"It's a total team effort. We have four freshmen playing right now so we are proud of how we are handling the student-athlete balance right now. It's a real credit to what kind of kids we have on this team right now," added Cabell.

Cabell saluted freshman Maggie McGeorge (Tucson, Ariz.) as really playing well right now. She is 11-2 this season in singles and 11-2 in doubles as well.
