Limbers/Kaloi Fall at SMC Invitational Doubles Semifinal

MORAGA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis team concluded action at the fifth annual ITA Saint Mary's Invitational, hosted at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Doubles partners Janalle Kaloi and Christine Limbers advanced to the semifinal but fell to Margarita Karnaukhova and Roberta Fessenko of Sacramento State in a close contest, 9-8, 7-3 in the tiebreaker.

Newcomer Casey Knutson advanced to the consolation semifinals in her first collegiate outing, defeating USF's Beate Bernhoft in the quarterfinals before falling to San Jose State's Noelle Lee in straight sets.

The Broncos return to the courts next weekend, taking part in the Rolex Regional, hosted by Stanford University. Play begins on Friday and continues through Sunday.
