Women's Tennis Names Volunteer Assistant Coach

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's tennis program has announced that Tricia Guidace has joined the staff as a volunteer assistant coach, head coach Aby Ryan announced today. Guidace will begin work on the Mission Campus immediately and will share responsibilities related to all aspects of the program.

"Tricia is an outstanding addition to our staff," Ryan said. "She brings a new perspective to the court, a great sense of humor and excellent organizational skills. She is extremely generous and we are excited to have her working with us."

Guidace attended Presentation High School in nearby San Jose and attended San Jose State University. She has been the assistant professional at the San Jose Swim and Racquet Club for the last four years. She worked on campus this past summer as the assistant director of the Santa Clara Nike Tennis Camp.

"This is a dream come true," Guidace said of her appointment. "I've always enjoyed teaching young kids at the Club and to step up to this level of play is amazing."

The Broncos start the fall season this weekend, participating in a tournament hosted by Saint Mary's in Moraga. The spring season gets underway January 31, 2003, when the Broncos host San Jose State at 2 p.m.
