SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara junior catcher Hannah Russell was named to the 2019 Preseason All-WCC Softball Team, as announced by the league Wednesday.
In 2018, Russell led the Broncos with a .331 average while starting all 46 games. She also finished with a team-leading .380 on-base percentage and added five doubles while scoring six runs. Her 16 RBIs placed second on the team.
Russell's performance earned her First Team All-WCC honors.
Santa Clara opens the season Friday, Feb. 8 at the NorCal Kickoff hosted by UC Davis and Sacramento State. The home-opener is Friday, Feb. 22 against Cal State Bakersfield as part of the Silicon Valley Classic, co-hosted with San Jose State.
