Softball Falls to Pacific in Series Finale Sunday

STOCKTON, Calif. – Sydney Lahners' three-run home run in the fifth was the big blow in the game as Santa Clara softball was topped by Pacific 5-1 in the series finale.

The Tigers (17-25, 7-5) took the lead with a run in the third and added another in the sixth for some insurance.

In addition to Lahners, Hailey Reed and Caitlyn Sung added RBIs as well with five different Pacific players collecting a hit each and five scoring a run.

Marissa Young (5-10) went four shutout innings in the start and collected the win while allowing two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Megan Walters got her 11th save by tossing the final three innings.

Santa Clara (7-35, 2-10) was able to get on the board in the seventh on an RBI single to left by Emily Eudy that scored Hannah Russell.

Russell finished the day with two hits including a double and three others each had a single.

A day after authoring the fourth no-hitter in program history, Aubree Kim (4-17) got the loss while throwing a complete game. She allowed five runs on five hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
