SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After a hard-fought conference home-opening series, Santa Clara softball heads out on the road to play at LMU Saturday and Sunday. The Broncos and Lions play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon and the finale will be Sunday at 10 a.m.
Last week Santa Clara hosted San Diego and took the series-opener before falling in the next two games in extra innings.

Hannah Russell leads the Santa Clara (6-30, 1-5) offense with a .283 batting average and has driven in 14 runs. Taylor Burns has a team-high 18 RBIs to go with five doubles, a triple, and a home run while Eleni Spirakis is hitting .263 with 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Ellie Fisher leads the Broncos with 18 runs scored and 15 steals.
In the circle, Aubree Kim leads the team in appearances (26), starts (18), complete games (6), innings (101), and strikeouts. She has started each of the last four games.
LMU (22-21-1, 5-1) is tied for first in the conference and is hitting .245 as a team with a 3.13 ERA.
Molly Grumbo has been the Lions best hitter with a .327 batting average, three home runs, seven doubles, 13 RBIs, and 18 run scored. Delanie Wisz has scored a team-high 23 runs and also leads with eight home runs and 24 RBIs.
Hannah Bandimere has a team-best 1.89 ERA and also leads in wins (16), appearances (30), starts (24), complete games (18), shutouts (4), and innings (159 2/3) and is second with 97 strikeouts. Linnay Wilson has a team-leading 104 strikeouts in 103 innings.
