SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball heads back out on the road to play at the NorCal Challenge Friday through Sunday. On Friday the Broncos play UC Davis at 4 p.m. Saturday Santa Clara faces Fairleigh Dickinson at 9:30 a.m. Sacramento State at 1:45 p.m. andat Sacramento State. The weekend concludes Sunday at UC Davis with the Aggies at 11:45 a.m. and the Hornets at 2 p.m.

The Broncos had a midweek doubleheader with Fairleigh Dickinson cancelled due to rain.

Santa Clara (3-17) is led on offense by Taylor Burns and her .294 batting average. She also leads the team with 11 RBIs and has four doubles and a triple to go with five runs scored. Morgan Modesto has hit a team leading five doubles and Hannah Russell has eight RBIs. Ellie Fisher leads the Broncos with 10 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.

Micaela Vierra has appeared in 15 games with eight starts and has three complete games with one shutout. She has tossed a team high 52 1/3 innings. Aubree Kim has thrown 48 innings and leads the team with 27 strikeouts. Kim has appeared in 15 games and made 10 starts.
