SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer stays on the road for Sunday match at Gonzaga at 1 p.m.
On Friday night, the Broncos topped Portland 4-1 to extend their winning streak over the Pilots to four matches.
Santa Clara is 20-1-2 all-time against Gonzaga with the first meeting coming in 1993. Last year the Broncos won at home 2-0 over the Zags and have won eight in a row with a nine-match unbeaten streak.
Santa Clara (7-6-1, 2-1 WCC) has won four of its last five matches while scoring 11goals during the stretch. The Broncos have scored 26 goals on the season and put 93 of 187 shots on goal.
Kelsey Turnbow leads the team with six goals and 16 points while tying for the team-lead with four assists. Maddy Gonzalez and Julie Doyle have each scored five goals while Maria Sanchez has scored three times and added four assists.
Melissa Lowder has allowed 17 goals in nine games for a 1.89 GAA. She has made 40 saves with a .702 save percentage and has one shutout. Courtney Ogren has played in five games and allowed eight goals for a 1.53 GAA. She has made 16 saves and has a .667 save percentage with one shutout.
Gonzaga (10-2-1, 2-1 WCC) has won six of seven including a 3-2 win at home over No. 23 Memphis. The Zags have outscored opponents 34-13 with a 104-53 advantage in shots on goal.
India Jencks has scored a team-high nine goals and added two assists for 20 points. Sophia Viviano leads the team with five assists and 21 points while scoring eight goals. Five other Bulldogs have scored at least two goals and nine have at least one assist.
Isabel Jones has allowed 13 goals for a 1.01 GAA and made 38 saves for a .745 save percentage. She has one solo shutout and has shared two more with backup Drew Williams.
