Women’s Golf At Entrada Classic Starting Monday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's golf will spend the first part of the week in southern Utah competing in the Entrada Classic, hosted by BYU at the 6,082-yard, par-72 Entrada Golf Course at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George. The 54-hole event will take place over two days beginning on Monday when the field will play two rounds.

The Broncos grabbed a share of 11th their last time out at The Gold Rush, it was their first finish outside the top-three in their last five tournaments.

A strong field is lined up for this one with six teams ranked among the top-90 in the recent Golfstat.com poll. Kent State is No. 12 in the rankings with Texas Tech (45), Texas-San Antonio (61), BYU (83), Colorado State (85) and Idaho (88) all scheduled to compete. The Broncos are currently ranked No. 101.

Coming off a career tournament, Claire Choi looks to continue her stellar play while anchoring the squad from the No. 1 spot. The freshman had her first top-5 finish with a career-low 54-hole score of 216 at The Gold Rush.

Sophomores Emily Sumner (74.06) and Sarah Busey (74.28) will join Choi on Santa Clara's five-player team. The trio has competed in every event this year. Sumner leads the team with a 74.06 average with Busey close behind at 74.28. Choi is third with an average of 75.00.

Completing the Broncos' contingent are Chloe Wong and Isabella Seeburger, who makes her season debut.
