MARICOPA, Ariz. – Junior Kristin Le and senior Annie Freman both finished among the top seven leading Santa Clara women's golf to a fifth-place finish with a team score of 19-over 595 after the first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
Le scored a second round 1-under 71 to end the first 36 holes at even-par 144, tied with a pair of golfers for fourth place. Freman, a two-time winner at this event, carded a 71 over the first 18 holes and a 2-over 74 over the second round to end her day tied for seventh at 1-over 145.

"I saw plenty of good shots today," head coach Krystal Kelly said. "We made a good amount of birdies, which was really fun, and we scored well, however, we probably should have been 10 shots lower on our second round total."
Freshman Chloe Wong matched her career-low with a first round 2-over 74, ending the day in a tie for 28th at 7-over 151.
Competing as an individual in her fourth event of the year, freshman Isabella Seeburger scored a 173 total.
Friday's final round on the 6,131-yard, par-72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club begins with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. PDT. "We're looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow," Kelly concluded.
