DAVIS, Calif. - Ido Goldschmidt, Spencer Galli, and Morgan Olson-Fabbro each scored two goals to lead No. 10 UC Davis past Santa Clara men's water polo 11-5 on Saturday in a Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) matchup.
"Ryan had a good game and shot the ball very well on our 6 on 5," said head coach Keith Wilbur.
Werner's second goal cut the UC Davis lead to 9-4 late in the third quarter, but the Aggies (11-5, 3-0) scored twice midway through the fourth.
The Broncos were stronger on their counterattacks today.
"Our counter defense was better than the past few games, but there are areas we can improve on half court defense and offense," said Wilbur.
- John Raineri and Reilley May returned from their injuries. Raineri started and May came off the bench.
- Nate Miller started his third consecutive game.
- Dane Estrella led Santa Clara with three steals, while Jack Rottman had a career-high three kickouts drawn.
- Emil Huebner went the distance in net, blocking six shots and recording five steals.
The Broncos face Cal Baptist at Sullivan Aquatic Center on Thursday before hosting the inaugural Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament on Friday.
