SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a tough bout with Arkansas, the No. 43 Santa Clara men's tennis team lost a close one, 4-3, on Friday. The Broncos continue a two-match weekend at home when they host Pacific on Sunday at Noon.

After dropping the No. 1 singles spot, the Broncos pulled out three straight victories. Sophomore John Lamble got Santa Clara going with a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Nikolas Zogaj. Senior Nicolas Vinel picked up a come-from-behind victory 4-6, 6-3,6-3.

Red-hot Tom Pham continued his perfect spring, improving to 10-0 this spring. Pham bested No. 103 Manfred Jeske in three sets 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.

Despite the early victories, wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots gave Arkansas the edge. Two doubles victories gave the Razorbacks the dual match victory.

The Broncos will look to bounce back on Sun., Feb. 26 when they host Pacific at Noon.
