Preparing for his senior season with the Broncos, Mark Daus spent part of the summer playing with the Portland Timbers U-23 team. In the 11th week of the season, United Soccer Leagues named Daus to the Premier Development League Team of the Week.

"It was an honor for them to want me for the team," said Daus, "I really enjoyed my time up in Portland. It was cool to play in a different environment and atmosphere with a new set of players and coaches. It gave me a taste of what the next level might be like. I hope the strides I took this summer will carry over into the fall."

Joining the team midseason, Daus made a tremendous impact scoring the game-winning goal on July 13 in the Timber's win over the division-leader Victoria Highlanders FC. Daus made his first start and played the full 90 minutes in the match against Victoria.

As team co-captain, Daus was named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team in the 2012 season with the Broncos. Anchoring the back line, Daus played and started in all 19 games and played a big part in the Broncos' seven-shutout season.

The Broncos will kick off their 2013 season against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Aug. 30 at 7p.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium.
