Head coach Cameron Rast, on game: "Today was an important game for us especially at home. We took a tough loss on Friday so we needed to come back and show some resilience and toughness. Even though we are young, I think we did that so I am happy with the effort and the result."
Rast, on scoring early: "We seem to get a lot of confidence when we score early and are able to find a second goal in the first half. That is important for us. However, we are going to need to learn to come back when we give up the first goal. That is something we will be working on."
Rast, on Brian Martin's play: "Brian has been very good for us this year. With him, you know you are going to get 100 percent every time and he has been excellent at turning guys and getting into dangerous positions. Today he showed that again by helping create two goals and getting in a lot of good crosses."
Goalkeeper Joseph Buttitta, on win: "It is huge to get a win today. We are heading out on a big road trip next weekend and it was important to get a win so we have some momentum on our side. Every road trip in the WCC is tough, so we are going to have to be ready next weekend."
Buttitta, on battling through injury in 2006: "I am sore after the games, but I am pushing through each game and we have been doing well as a team. I definitely want to be out there because I think that we have a great team and it is fun to be a part of that. We are only going to get better as the season goes along."
Sophomore Brian Martin, on first career goal: "I hustled defensively, and usually when you work hard good things happen. I was able to intercept the pass from the defender and then slip by him and put it through the goalkeeper's legs. It felt great to get that first one."
Martin, on team scoring two goals in first half: "We were disappointed after Friday night and we missed some chances in the first half of that game. It was important to come back today and score early and play well and we were able to do that. Getting a goal right before halftime was important also because it really put us in control."
