The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference defeated the WCC, 21-18, in quarterfinal action at Bill Greehey Arena on the campus of St. Mary's University. Caruso, a senior on the 2017-18 Bronco squad, went 3-for-4 from the floor and corralled a game-high seven rebounds.
The WCC squad won all three of its pool games in a field the included 32 teams, one for each of the NCAA Division I conferences. All games went to 21 points.
Calvin Hermanson and Cullen Neal of Saint Mary's, and D'Marques Tyson of Portland joined Caruso on the WCC team, which defeated the Ohio Valley Conference on Friday, and the American Athletic Conference and Horizon League on Saturday.
Participants competed for a $105,000 prize pool, including $50,000 to the winning team. A pool play victory was worth $1,000 per team.
The Big Ten earned the big payday, knocking off the Big West, 21-13, in Sunday's final.
The tournament was held concurrently with the NCAA Final Four.
