WCC Preseason Baseball Poll, Team Announced

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference released its 2010 preseason baseball poll and all-conference teams today. Santa Clara University received one first place vote and is projected to finish sixth, according to the league's coaches. SCU All-America slugger's Geoff Klein and Tommy Medica were tabbed as preseason all-conference players.

The reigning league champion Gonzaga University Bulldogs - who won the league after being picked to finish fourth last season - again came in fourth in the voting. The University of San Diego collected six of the eight coaches' votes to win the title, followed by Pepperdine University and the University of San Francisco.

All eight WCC teams begin the 2010 season on Friday, February 19. The league also released its COMPLETE WCC SCHEDULE. The Broncos open the year with a home series against the University of Nevada. For tickets or more information call 408-554-4660.
