Sean McMillan is in his second season as director of operations for Santa Clara baseball.
McMillan, who was hired in December 2017, came to Santa Clara from Junipero Serra High School in nearby San Mateo, California, where he served as an assistant coach for the varsity squad since May 2017, and the junior varsity head coach from 2015 to 2017.
Along with his coaching duties, McMillan was the International Student Program Director at Serra High, placing international students in the homes of Serra families and providing academic as well as social guidance.
The 2015 University of Redlands graduate was a four-year starting catcher for the Bulldogs from 2011-15 and a three-time captain. He finished his career with a .330 batting average and 141 RBIs in 156 career games. McMillan was twice named first-team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as well as to the D3baseball.com All-West Region team.
McMillan received his bachelor’s degree in creative writing and physical education from the University of Redlands in 2015 before obtaining his master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University in 2018.
