Bronco Baseball Players Finish Up 2018 Summer Ball
SANTA CLARA Calif. – The 2018 summer collegiate baseball season came to a close for five Bronco players with stellar performances up and down the west coast.  Here's a roundup of their summer performances.  
 
 
Catcher Jake MacNicholsHealdsburg Prune Packers (Healdsburg, California) 
 
• MacNichols hit .284 over the summer and led his team with 14 home runs in 116 at bats. The junior-to-be helped lead the Packers to the playoffs by hitting a three-run home run and an RBI-triple against the San Luis Obispo Blues to win 6-4. The Packers fell to the Orange County Riptide in the semi-finals 11-9.  In mid-summer, MacNichols was nominated by the California Collegiate League managers to participate in the 2018 CCL Prospect Game and Scouts Showcase.  
 
 
Infielder Ryan McCarthy - Lincoln Potters (Lincoln, California)  
 
• McCarthy hit .381 with one home run in eight games with the Potters.  
 
 
Infielder Austin ReyesPalm Springs Power (Palm Springs, California) 
 
• Reyes was named to the 2018 All-SCCBL Second Team after hitting .353.  The senior-to-be collected 18 hits in 14 games with five stolen bases leading the Power to the top spot in the league rankings and the best overall record.
 
 
Catcher Tony Boetto - Cowlitz Black Bears (Longview, Washington):   
 
• Boetto played 25 games behind the plate totaling 18 hits including a home run. 
 
Infielder Jason DicocheaPort Angeles Lefties (Port Angeles, Washington) 
 
• Dicochea hit .336 in 40 games, collecting 47 hits and 23 RBIs. Dicochea's batting average was good for fourth-best among all WCL players. The junior-to-be was also named to the North Division Roster for the West Coast League's All-star game where he went 2-for-5, scoring and driving in a run, helping the North to a 10-6 win.
