Baseball Alumni Weekend Approaching Fast

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University baseball program will welcome home many former players January 25-26 when they return for a weekend full of activities.

The baseball alumni weekend will begin on Friday at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start of the first annual Bronco Baseball Alumni Golf Tournament. Following the golf tournament the players will remain at the golf course following their round for a banquet that will feature former Bronco standout and Major League player Mike McFarlane.

McFarlane will speak briefly at the banquet and is excited to be coming back to his Alma Matter and lend a helping hand. "It's exciting to be getting in on the start of an exciting team time at Santa Clara," said McFarlane. "Mark (O'Brien) is a young and hungry coach who brings is a lot of intensity and excitement."

The golf tournament will take place at Cinnabar Hills Golf Course and costs $200 per player which includes the cost of golf and the banquet following.

Saturday's festivities will begin with a home run derby at 11:30 a.m. followed by the game at Buck Shaw Stadium which begins at 1 p.m. Following the game there will be an alumni barbeque in Alumni Park located on Stanton Field, which is adjacent to the stadium.
