Broncos Harriers Fare Well at 2008 Shoreline Open

The Bronco cross country team competed at the 2008 Shoreline Open on Sat., Oct. 25 to close out the season for most of the runners. The meet was not scored. The rest of the team will run at the WCC Championships Sat., Nov. 2.

"This is a nice race for our runners who are closing out cross country season," said Bronco head coach Tom Service.

Pacing the Bronco effort on the men's side, Chris Mosier finished 18th at 23:25. Andy Backus was 21st at 23:37 and Nhunguyen Le was 23rd at 23:51. Battling back from injury, Garrett Smith finished 26th at 23:58 and Matt Wagner was the fifth Bronco male across the line in 31st place at 24:18.

Erin McCarthy was 25th at 19:30 as the top Santa Clara runner. Finishing in 30th place, Megan Mumane cracked 20 minutes to finish at 19:59 in the 5K. Finishing in third place, in 33rd place, Monica Coen was the third Bronco at 20:06. Meghan McNamara was 38th at 20:22 and Jenny Light was 47th at 20:57.
