SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Julie Doyle of Santa Clara women's soccer and Mac Carey of men's water polo have been named the SAAC Broncos of the Month for September.
Doyle battled back from an ACL injury suffered in October 2017, making her season debut in the Broncos 1-0 win over No. 2 North Carolina on Sept. 7. She scored her first goal of the year in a 3-0 victory over TCU (Sept. 13) and added an assist vs. Cal Poly (Sept. 21) while helping lead the Broncos to their best nonconference season since the 2001 national championship year.
Carey helped the Broncos to a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational Sept. 7-9, including a 12-9 victory over then-No. 15 Brown. He finished the month with 19 goals, eight steals, seven assists, and seven kickouts drawn.
At the end of each month, members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will vote for one male and one female student-athlete.
