BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Santa Clara University women's water polo team member Becky Hong earned second team honors from the Western Women's Water Polo Association at the Championships hosted this past weekend by Cal State Bakersfield.

Hong, a senior utility from Honolulu, Hawaii, scored five goals at the tournament, leading the team to a fifth-place finish in only its third season at the Division I level.

The Broncos finished the season with an 18-20 record, besting 12 nationally-ranked teams in the process, across all divisions. Hong started all 38 games and was second on the team in goals scored, with 53. She had 14 multi-goal games, including a six-goal performance against Villanova on March 2, a 13-8 Bronco victory.

Hong received second team All-Tournament honors at the WWWPAs last season, and as a freshman, was named honorable mention at the Division III level.
