Broncos Win Final Regular Season Game 10-5 Over UCSC

April 19, 2008

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - In their final game of the year before the WWPA Championships, Santa Clara (17-11, 13-6 WWPA) got a much needed, 10-5 win over UC Santa Cruz (12-17, 4-10 WWPA) to end a three game slide. Amy Lamb added her seventh hat trick of the season in the win.

Along with Lamb's three goals, she had an assist, a kickout drawn, and a five-meter penalty drawn. Her sister, Allie Lamb, added two goals, while Emily Bonk, Meg Zimmerman, Taylor Harkins, Brianna Anderson, and Christie Miller all had one. Miller also had two assists, a steal, and a kickout drawn.

Randahl Capurro played most of the game in goal, blocking 11 shots and allowing three goals. Wren White came in for the last part of the fourth quarter and blocked two shots while allowing two goals.

The Broncos will head off to Los Angeles for the WWPA Championships next week at Loyola Marymount. The tournament kicks off Friday, April 25 as Santa Clara looks to improve on their fourth place finish last year.
