SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's water polo team took a 7-2 loss to 11th-ranked San Jose State at the Aquatic Center this afternoon.

Senior Becky Hong and Kelley Mays each scored in the second quarter as the Spartans took 3-2 lead at the half. SJSU shut out the Broncos while scoring two goals in each of the remaining periods.

Anne Ginotti and Alexandra Dalmau split time at goal, each recording one save.

The Broncos' record moves to 14-17 on the season.

Santa Clara returns to the pool tomorrow next weekend, visiting Tempe, Ariz., for the Sun Devil Invitational, hosted by Arizona State University. The Broncos open the tournament against CS Northridge at 4 p.m. on Friday. They will play the host Sun Devils on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and will close out the Invitational later that afternoon against Cal Baptist at 3 p.m.
