SCU Women's Water Polo Edged 6-5 By No. 12 Michigan

March 29, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 12th-ranked Michigan Wolverines slipped past the 19th-ranked Santa Clara women's water polo team, 6-5, Saturday afternoon at the Fluid Five in Bloomington, Ind. With the setback, the Broncos are now 12-7 on the season.

"It was a close game," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "We were playing catch up the entire time. We played well defensively, but missed some key offensive opportunities."

Taylor Harkins, Christie Miller, Elizabeth Perry, Kendra Betke and Kendal Hildebrand each registered goals for the Broncos against the Wolverines. With Miller's goal, she had two kickouts drawn, while Perry had a steal and a kickout drawn on her goal.

Claire Linney also had two kickouts drawn, while Brianna Anderson tallied two steals and had two kickouts drawn.

In the cage, Randahl Capurro played the entire game for the Broncos, blocking 10 shots.

Santa Clara continues action at the Fluid Five on Sunday against Wagner at 9 a.m. and No. 17 Indiana at 1 p.m.
