Broncos Bounce Back With 13-9 Victory Over Maryland

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's water polo team bounced back from their loss to #1 Stanford with a big 13-9 victory over the University of Maryland. The Broncos received a great offensive performance from senior Andrea Evans, who scored four goals, notched an assist and had a steal.

In addition to Evans' hat-trick, the Broncos got multi-goal games from three others, including Emily Bonk, Katie Radvanyi and Christie Miller. Bonk also notched two assists had a steal and a kickout drawn, while Miller had an assist, two steals and a 5m penalty drawn. The offensive effort was rounded out with goals by Meg Zimmerman, Brianna Anderson and Amy Lamb. Claire Linney also added four kickouts drawn.

Randahl Capurro had a solid performance in the cage for Santa Clara, recording ten blocks.

With final exams completed, the Broncos will spend their spring break preparing for the Aggie Shootout, hosted by UC Davis this weekend, March 31 and April 1. Santa Clara (14-10, 9-2) will open play on Saturday, March 31 against UC San Diego at 11:45 a.m.
