Los Angeles, Calif. - In a three-overtime nailbiter against No. 11 LMU, Santa Clara pulled out a huge 7-6 upset victory over the lions in the first game of the LMU Invitational. Allie Lamb scored with six seconds left in regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime where Amy Lamb would score the winning goal in the third overtime.

It was a true back-and-forth game from the start, with neither team leading by more than one goal all game. With the game tied 1-1 going into half, the Broncos used to big third quarter to take a 4-3 lead into the final quarter. LMU came out hot, scoring almost immediately into the fourth quarter to tie the game and then taking the lead with a little over three minutes to go.

Randahl Capurro had a terrific fourth quarter with five blocks not allowing LMU to extend their lead. Still trailing by one, the Broncos called a timeout with 29 seconds left. Then Allie Lamb scored her only goal of the game with six seconds left to send the game into overtime at 5-5.

LMU struck first, taking a 6-5 lead after the first overtime, but Kendra Betke scored on her only attempt of the game with two minutes remaining in the second overtime to send the game into sudden death. There, Amy Lamb scored her second goal of the game to win it for the Broncos.

Capurro was sensational in goal, shutting down the Lions and blocking 21 shots in the game. Emily Bonk, Meg Zimmerman, and Brianna Anderson had the other goals for Santa Clara.

The Broncos will look to carry the momentum from the big win into this afternoon's game again No. 7 UC Davis at 4:40 p.m.
