No. 12 Michigan Visits Santa Clara Friday at 3:30 p.m.; WWPA Play Continues Saturday in Monterey

SANTA CLARA Calif. – The Santa Clara University women's water polo team is finishing up a season-opening stretch of playing 8 of its first 10 against teams listed amongst the Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 20.

On Friday, the Broncos will host No. 12 Michigan at 3:30 p.m. at SCU's Sullivan Aquatics Center. However, the more important game may be Saturday's matchup at Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) rival Cal State Monterey Bay. In all, Santa Clara will play three times this weekend, first hosting Michigan Friday, then playing CS Monterey Bay and Fresno Pacific Saturday.

"Conference games are the most important to us, so our game against CS Monterey Bay on Saturday is our main focus in practice this week," said Santa Clara head coach Keith Wilbur. "Fresno Pacific is an up and coming program, so that will be another good game that we need to be ready for.  We are also very excited to play No. 12 Michigan at home on Friday.  We look forward to the challenge of playing top tier opponents, and it is always fun to play at home."

The Broncos currently own a 1-1 WWPA record and a win Saturday at Monterey would make it back-to-back conference wins on the road. For the complete WWPA weekly release click here.
