The Santa Clara University women's water polo program finished hosting The Bronco, an 18-game, three-day tournament at the Sullivan Aquatic Center. National top 10 teams, No. 7 San Jose State and No. 5 Hawaii defeated Santa Clara (11-16; 8-5 WWPA) Sunday.

After winning a Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) game over Cal State Bakersfield Saturday morning, Santa Clara took No. 20 UC San Diego into sudden-death overtime later in the day. After losses to SJSU and Hawaii, the Broncos finished the weekend 1-3.

The tournament featured four nationally-ranked teams, with Hawaii winning all three of its games, San Jose State was 4-0 and No. 6 LMU went 4-1.

Santa Clara senior Taylor Harkins had a team-leading seven goals during the weekend. Teammate Marina Allen scored six and senior goalkeeper Wren White was terrific in the overtime game with UCSD. With an 8-5 record, The Broncos sit among the top four teams in the WWPA heading into next weekend's tournament at Cal State Bakersfield.
