HAYWARD, Calif. - Junior Elizabeth Glotzbach led the Santa Clara University women's water polo team to a 16-3 victory over CS Hayward this afternoon in Hayward.
With the victory, the Broncos improve to 2-1 on the season.
Glotzbach scored three of her goals in the first half, as the Broncos opened up a 10-1 lead at intermission. Junior Kelley Mays added three goals, while two goals each were scored by freshman Amanda Ginn, freshman Allison Stover and junior Becky Hong. Freshmen Kelly Rauenbuehler, Katy Shumm and Erin McGann rounded out the Bronco scoring by notching one goal each.
Junior Carly Carpenter added five assists and four steals, while Hong and McGann also registered four steals each. Santa Clara was led defensively by sophomore Anne Ginotti in goal. She notched seven blocks on the afternoon.
The Broncos open their home schedule tomorrow when they host UC Davis. The action will begin at the Leavey Pool at 3 p.m. Admission is free
