SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara volleyball team will make its 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance on Friday as the Broncos face the No.1 seeded Cardinal of Stanford in the first round, it was announced Sunday. SCU and Stanford with battle each other at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto, Calif.

Prior to the Broncos match, Sacramento State and Minnesota will play at 5:30 p.m. The two winners will then face each other in the second round on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The Broncos finished the 2007 regular season with a 19-11 overall record and an 11-3 West Coast Conference mark. Santa Clara shared the WCC Championship with San Diego, but received the Conference's automatic bid because the Broncos swept the Toreros 2-0 in regular season play. Leading the way for the Broncos are WCC Player of the Year Crystal Matich, Co-Freshman of the Year Krista Kelley and All-WCC selections Brittany Lowe, Lindsy Evans and Caroline Walters.

The Broncos enter Friday's game off a 3-2 decision over Pepperdine in their WCC season finale. Kelley notched her fifth double-double of the season with a match-high 32 kills and 10 digs, while posting four total blocks. Lowe led the squad with three aces, while earning her 14th double-double of the year with 27 kills and 10 digs. Senior libero Walters led the match with a season-best 25 digs, while setter Matich collected 14 digs and dished out 57 assists.
