SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara redshirt senior Anna Cmaylo was named the West Coast Conference's Player of the Week, it was announced Monday. Cmaylo led the Broncos to a 2-1 week in which they swept Sacramento State and No. 22 Long Beach State. The honor is her second career weekly accolade from the WCC.
The middle blocker compiled a 39.6 hitting percentage for the week and averaged 3.22 kills and 1.67 blocks per set. Against the Hornets, Cmaylo registered 12 kills and four total blocks. She then led the match against Long Beach State on Sept. 20 with her first double-double of the season - 12 kills and 10 blocks.
On the season, Cmaylo is first on the team with 44 total blocks, second with a 36.3 hitting percentage and third with nine aces.
The Broncos are 8-3 on the season and sit just one spot out of the AVCA/CBS College Sports Top-25 Coaches Poll. Santa Clara returns to action on Oct. 2 as it opens the WCC season against Loyola Marymount. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Leavey Center.
