Head Coach Jon Wallace, on tonight's match:
"Cal played really well tonight. They are a well organized team. They know and feel that they can win a match. Cal will definitely make some noise this year. We are still developing and working things out. It has to click for us how to maintain the good level of play we develop in a game for a longer period of time. We still break down too fast."
On Kim Courtney:
"Kim came into the match tonight and helped steady out our backline. She also made some steady contributions in the front."
On tomorrow night's match against UC Santa Barbara:
"Tomorrow night will be a lot better and a lot more competitive. I believe it is more of an even match-up tomorrow, so it should be some good volleyball. I hope that we can come out on the court tomorrow night with the energy to be tougher and compete harder."
Sophomore outside hitter Nina Sevastopoulos, on Cal:
"They are a really good team and I believe we fought hard to the end of the that third game. We didn't give up. Tonight's match will hopefully be the motivation we need to go out there tomorrow and protect our home court."
On Santa Barbara:
"Santa Barbara is disciplined on defense. They got a lot of balls up today against Notre Dame and they pulled through to the win. So, tomorrow is going to be really good."
