San Bruno, Calif. - After leading No. 17 Santa Clara University (6-0) to the Bronco Invitational title this past weekend, senior Cassie Perret was tabbed as the WCC Player of the Week (9/12). The host Broncos beat then- No. 15 Arizona and then-No. 18 UC Santa Barbara en route to a 3-0 mark over the three-day tournament and Perret played a large role in her team's success. The outside hitter averaged 4.10 kills, 2.10 digs, and 1.20 blocks per game while hitting at a stellar .415 clip. For her efforts, the Menlo Park, Calif. native was voted as the MVP of the tournament. This is the second consecutive WCC Player of the Week honor for Santa Clara, as junior Kim McGiven earned the award last week.
Santa Clara returns to action this weekend when the Broncos visit Salt Lake City, Utah to partake in the Utah Tournament. On September 16, SCU will take on Idaho at 6 P.M. and then on September 18, the Broncos will play host Utah at 6 P.M. All times listed are Pacific Standard Time.
