Volleyball Bests Appalachian State

FORT WORTH, Texas - The 19th-ranked Santa Clara University volleyball team swept Appalachian State to open participation at the TCU adidas Invitational, hosted at the University Recreation Center in Fort Worth. Freshman Annalisa Muratore posted 15 kills to lead the Broncos in the 30-16, 30-25, 30-22 victory. Santa Clara is now 5-2 on the season, while the Mountaineers fall to 6-2.

Santa Clara out-blocked Appalachian State 9-4, with freshman Anna Cmaylo leading the Broncos defensively with six blocks. Sophomore Kim McGiven added nine kills.

The Mountaineers were led by Chrissy Finch's 10 kills.

Santa Clara remains at the Invitational and will play two matches on Saturday: against Arkansas-Little Rock at 8:30 a.m. and the host Horned Frogs at 5 p.m. Both times are Pacific and the matches can be followed online via CSTV's Gametracker, located at SantaClaraBroncos.com.
