Potter Named All-Pacific Region

Dec. 11, 2003

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second year in a row, Santa Clara University senior middle blocker Becky Potter was named to the Division I all-Pacific Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

A native of Clovis, Calif., Potter is a three-time all-West Coast Conference honoree and finished her career as the all-time kills leader in Bronco volleyball history. She was named a second-team AVCA All-America as a junior and led the Broncos to four-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Potter is one of three seniors on this year's Santa Clara volleyball squad that finished the season with a 20-11 overall record and a 11-3 WCC mark and a second-place finish in league play. Santa Clara was one of a record six WCC teams to earn a place in the NCAA Tournament and ended the season with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Utah in the event's first round in Seattle, Wash.

She led the team with a .302 hitting percentage and averaged 4.31 kills per game. Potter also led the team with 1.15 blocks per game and was second in digs with a 3.12 per game average.
