Women's Tennis Participates in ITA Northwest Regional Championships

STANFORD, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's tennis team competed in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted at Stanford University. The Broncos competed in both singles and doubles draws. In the round of 128 SCU newcomer Kacie Wagner defeated San Jose State's Sanda Hadzisabic in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. Moving onto the second round, Wagner took on host Stanford's Lindsay Burdette in the round of 64. After falling in the first set, 6-4, she came back to win the second set 6-2. In the third set, Wagner could only get a point on the Cardinal, as she fell 6-1. Courtney Hull earned a win in the singles consolation round. Hull took on Eastern Washington's Judy Leining in a straight sets win, as the SCU sophomore won 6-3, 6-1. In the singles round of 128, Hull fell to the University of Washington's Denise Dy, 6-0, 6-1. In doubles, the Broncos could not get in the win column, as all four pairs fell in the round of 64. Santa Clara continues fall tournament play on Friday, Nov. 14, when they participate in the Cal Poly Tournament in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Main Draw
