Final Stats

SAN DIEGO - Santa Clara University's tennis team will face West Coast Conference rival Loyola Marymount Sunday morning for 11th place at the 2001 World TeamTennis National Collegiate Tennis Championships, held this weekend at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

The Broncos defeated Princeton 25-21 in the final round of pool play, but fell to San Diego State in the ninth-place semifinals.

Oklahoma State topped Alabama 28-13 in today's first semifinal, while South Alabama-9-0 all-time at this tournament-beat BYU 29-16 in the other semifinal. The finalists will face each other tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. Third through 15th-place matches start at 9 a.m.

The Championships, administered by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State, is the third-ever co-ed intercollegiate national tennis championship at the Division I level. WTT co-founder Billie Jean King has been on hand all weekend.
