Five Bronco Women's Tennis Players Honored for WCC All-Academic Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif. –The West Coast Conference announced the 2012-13 WCC Tennis All-Academic Team on Tues., April 23. Bronco senior Kelly Lamble and junior No. 28 Katie Le have been recognized for their academic achievements on the first team. In addition, senior Maggie McGeorge, junior Carolina O'Haren, and sophomore Stephanie Skaras received honorable mentions.

"I've always been so proud of our academic standing for the entire team at Santa Clara. This is a nice recognition by the conference of the great work they do in the classroom," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "Kelly and Katie with their especially phenomenal GPAs are also our No. 1 and No. 2 players for singles and doubles. It is a great accomplishment."

Le is a Computer Engineering major with a 3.79 GPA. Lamble double majors in Finance and Psychology and holds a 3.88 GPA. Both women have been key players for the Broncos success, performing at the No. 1 and 2 single positions and No. 1 and 2 doubles positions throughout the entire season.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA), while also being a significant contributor to her team.
