Santa Clara, Calif.—The No. 73 Santa Clara women's tennis team looks to improve its 3-1 record this weekend on a two-match road trip to Texas. On Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific, the Broncos will take on No. 42 Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. The following day, the women will compete against No. 74 Flordia International at 11:00 a.m. Pacific.
"We are excited to play two tough teams this weekend," said head coach Ben Cabell. "We have looked forward to this opportunity to compete against two ranked schools even since the then-ranked No. 8 Cal match in January. Going on this road trip will let us see where we stand against the higher ranked teams."
The women's tennis team is no stranger to playing on the road. The Bronco's are coming off of two impressive away match wins and look to add two more W's to their perfect away record of 2-0. The women won at San Jose State on Fri., Jan. 27th 7-0, and at the University of the Pacific on Sat., Feb 4th 6-1.
After their trip to Texas, the Broncos look ahead to two more matches at home over the President's Day weekend before West Coast Conference competition begins with University of San Francisco on Fri., March 2 at 1:00 p.m.
