Santa Clara, Calif.—The Bronco's women's tennis team finished competition in the Cal Nike Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 2 in Berkeley, Calif.
"Overall our team did great in the Cal Invite. Everyone played very well even without me being there. Kacie Wagner not only played extremely well, but also filled in as an assistance coach for me. I was very pleased with Kimmi Cox's performance as well," said Bronco women's coach Ben Cabell.
Alex Zaniewski and Kacie Wagner were the No. 2 seeded doubles team and played against Catherine Leduc and Molly Aloia from Saint Mary's in the Blue championship match. The duo had to retire because of an injury from Wagner. Overall they competed very strongly throughout the entire tournament.
Brittany Warly and Kimmi Cox lost to the same Saint Mary's duo in the semi-final of the Blue flight by a score of 8-1.
Maggie McGeorge played in the semi-final against Cal's Stephany Chang but came up short 6-0, 6-2.
