Women's Tennis: Day Two Wrap Up of Cal Nike Invite

Santa Clara, Calif.—The Bronco's women's tennis team had another strong day of competition at the Cal Nike Invitational in Berkeley, Calif.

 

With the Blue singles quarterfinal round taking place today, Maggie McGeorge advanced to the semifinals tomorrow Sun. Oct. 2nd at 10:30 a.m. to take on Stephany Chang of Cal. McGeorge defeated Juliette Legendre of Nevada 6-2, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. If McGeorge moves on to the finals, that match will start at 2:00 p.m. the same day.

Due to an injury, Kacie Wagner had to step out of her quarterfinal match against Chang earlier today.

 

In Blue doubles, the No. 2 tournament ranked team of Alex Zaniewki and Kacie Wagner will be playing in the championship match taking place at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Sun. Oct. 2nd. They will be competing against a duo from St. Mary's.

 

Kelly Lamble and McGeorge made it all the way to the Gold doubles semifinal consolation round where they dropped to a tough St. Mary's team 8-4.
