Women's Tennis Enjoys Another Strong Day At Bulldog Classic

FRESNO, Calif. - The women's tennis team enjoyed another solid day at the Bulldog Classic on Saturday with Stephanie Galainena and Myra Davoudi both earning singles wins for SCU. The Broncos wrap up play in the tournament on Sunday.

In the only main draw match of the day for SCU, senior Lindsay McBride ran into the No. 4 seed Maria Mizyuk of Nevada and fell 6-2, 6-4 in a closely-contested match. McBride was the only Bronco to get through to the Round of 16.

In the consolation draw, both Galainena and Davoudi won their matches, although the wins came in totally different circumstances. Galainena cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Anna Guzman of San Jose State, while Davoudi again pulled out a three-set win. Davoudi defeated Katie Orletsky of Arizona 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) to win her second three-set match in as many days.

Freshman Courtney Hull fell in the final match of the day, 6-1, 6-0, to Dana Popescu of San Jose State.
