Head coach Ben Cabell, on win: "It was nice to get in the win column again and to do it with solid play. We were able to rest Erika (Barnes) and Kim (Daniel) today so that should help us for Sunday also."
Cabell, on play of Lindsay McBride and Stephanie Galainena: "Lindsay and Steph played a great doubles match and that got their day started right. Lindsay then put together one of her best performances of the season in singles so I am very proud of her. Steph also had a good day in singles. I am looking for them to continue to play at that same level."
Freshman Meghan Madden, on her first match: "I was a little nervous before the match, but it was great once I started playing. I didn't find out I was playing until a few minutes before the match so that helped because I didn't have time to think too much."
Madden, on support from teammates: "I have watched a lot of matches this year and tried to support my teammates and they were really there for me today when I was playing. It was nice having two seniors like Erika (Barnes) and Kim (Daniel) watching and supporting me. It is fun to be a part of this team and I am glad that I could contribute to a win today."
Madden, on first season at SCU: "I am really enjoying my time here. I think that I have improved a lot as a player and I am happy to get that first match out of the way. I hope that I keep getting better and I can keep helping the team."
