Two Softball Players Nab WCC All-Academic Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball had two players named to the 2014 West Coast Conference Softball All-Academic Team on Friday. Seniors Krista Jensen and Kelly Scribner were both honored for their work in the classroom. This is the third honor for both players, as they were both named to the 2011, 2012, and 2013 Pacific Coast Softball Conference Honor Rolls.

"It's great to have Krista and Kelly be rewarded for all the hard work they have put in the classroom," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "They a true testament of how hard our players work on and off the field."

Scribner, named the WCC Player of the Week on May 5, leads Santa Clara with eight home runs and a .603 slugging percentage while starting every game this season. Scribner has added nine doubles to go with 18 RBI and 16 runs scored. Scribner will graduate in June with a degree in Finance. She currently has a 3.575 GPA.

Jensen has played in 38 games and made 33 starts. She has knocked in nine runs and scored eight while clubbing seven doubles out of her 20 hits. Jensen will graduate in June with a degree in Psychology. She currently has a 3.885 GPA.
