Kelly Scribner Discusses Her Past Four Years As A Bronco
Written by Kennedy Dinius '17 As a member of the softball team, Kelly Scribner (KS) has had many great experiences with her teammates over the past four years. In her last season, she hopes to enjoy every moment with her team and make a difference for the softball program. Although busy in the middle of her season, Scribner was able to give Santa Clara Broncos (SCB) her thoughts on how she feels about being apart of the Bronco’s softball program.

Softball Falls in Walk-Off at Cal Poly
Santa Clara softball fell to Cal Poly by a final of 3-2 on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh. The Broncos are now 3-14 on the season while the Mustangs are now 12-9.

Bronco Softball Splits Doubleheader on First Day at Cal Poly
Santa Clara softball split a doubleheader on the opening day of the Cal Poly Mustang Classic. The Broncos lost the opening game 6-2 to Sacramento State before coming back with a 6-0 win vs. Fairleigh Dickinson in the nightcap. Santa Clara is now 2-12 on the season.

Broncos Win Big vs. Stony Brook in Game One of Doubleheader
On the second day at the Cal Poly Mustang Classic, Santa Clara softball split a double header for the second straight day. Santa Clara beat Stony Brook 9-1 in six innings before falling to Fairleigh Dickinson 9-1 in five innings. The Broncos are now 3-13 on the season.

Softball Heads to Cal Poly Mustang Classic
After a strong weekend on offense, Santa Clara softball returns to the field at the Cal Poly Mustang Classic in San Luis Obispo, Calif. starting Fri., March 7. The Broncos play Fri., March 7 vs. Sacramento State at 9 a.m. and vs. Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m., Sat., March 8 vs. Stony Brook at 9 a.m. and vs. Fairleigh Dickinson at 11:30 a.m., and Sun., March 9 at 11:30 a.m. vs. Cal Poly.

Broncos Drop Wild Game vs. Seattle
In the finale of the 2014 Santa Clara Marriott Invitational, Santa Clara softball fell to Seattle in a shootout by a final of 13-11. The Broncos are now 1-11 on the season while the Redhawks are now 10-11.

Broncos Top Davis 5-4 on Late Run, Split Double-Header
Playing a doubleheader due to rain the previous day, Santa Clara softball lost to Seattle by a final of 7-3 and beat UC Davis 5-4. The Broncos are now 1-10 on the season while the Redhawks are 7-11 and the Aggies are 5-14.

Softball Moves Up Game Times Sunday
The final day of the 2014 Santa Clara Marriott Invitational will start 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. The first game of the day, UC Davis vs. Boston will now start at 9:30 a.m. instead of 10 a.m.

Softball Hosts Santa Clara Marriott Invitational This Weekend
Getting set for its second home tournament in as many weeks, Santa Clara softball will host the 2014 Santa Clara Marriott Invitational. The Broncos will host Seattle, Boston, and UC Davis. On Fri., Feb. 28 Santa Clara will play Boston at 3:30 pm and Seattle at 6 p.m. On Sat., March 1 the Broncos will play UC Davis at 12 p.m. and on Sun., March 2 they will play Seattle at 3 p.m. The whole schedule can be found here. Santa Clara enters the week with a 0-8 record. Seattle University is 5-11, UC Davis is 5-13, and Boston is 3-1.

Opening its 2014 season, Santa Clara softball fell 6-0 to No. 14 Kentucky and 8-0 to Long Beach State in five innings in the first day of the Long Beach State Tournament. The Broncos are now 0-2 on the young season. They return to the field tomorrow, Fri., Feb. 7 at 11:30 a.m. vs. Kent State.

Bronco Softball Set To Kick-Off 2014 Season
Getting set for the first year in the West Coast Conference, Santa Clara softball is looking forward to a season in which it returns all but five players. Santa Clara won eight games last season, including five in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. Santa Clara welcomes five freshmen to the team in 2014, including four from the Bay Area.

Krista Jensen, a senior utility player for the Softball team, has shown dedication and heart throughout her four years at Santa Clara. As Jensen enters her final season with the Broncos, she plans on using all the hyped up energy and enthusiasm from offseason workouts, and using that drive and turn that into results on the field.

Stephanie Fisher Looks Forward to Final Season as Bronco
Stephanie Fisher, a senior outfielder for the Softball team, has shown consistency as well as determination through her four years at Santa Clara. As she enters her final season as a Bronco, she looks to give it her all on the field and have no regrets. Playing in every game last year, Fisher looks to continue her streak of continuous game as well as being a major contributor to this year’s team.

Come enjoy a fun evening out and meet your SCU Softball team! The annual crab feed will be Sat., Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. and is held in conjunction with the program's annual kick-off weekend, celebrating the start of the new season. The Broncos' annual Alumni Game will be played earlier in the day.

Bronco Softball Announces 2014 Schedule
Opening the second season on its new field, Santa Clara softball announced its 2014 schedule Thursday. The season kicks off Feb. 6 at the Long Beach State Tournament vs. Kentucky. The home opener will be Feb. 21 vs. Iowa State in the Santa Clara Marriott Bronco Classic while conference play opens at Pacific April 5. This will be the first season for softball in the West Coast Conference. For the previous xxx years Santa Clara has played in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC).

Playing a pair of exhibition games in its beautiful new stadium, Santa Clara Softball will face Academy of Art Sat., Nov. 9 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. in a double header. Following the game there will be a social mixer to follow just down the street from campus at Wine Affairs on the Alameda. The Broncos will finish the fall season Sun., Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in a double header at Stanford.

The Bleachers Are Coming! The Bleachers Are Coming!
After getting a on-campus field last year, Santa Clara softball is continuing to improve the softball experience for fans. The Broncos will have bleachers installed at the park before the start of next season. The seating should be finished by January 2014 and will hold approximately 200 fans.

Santa Clara University Athletics is proud to announce the launch of its redesigned official athletics website, www.SantaClaraBroncos.com (as of 12 pm Pacific on July 1, 2013). Santa Clara and PrestoSports, the provider for the past three years, have been working hard the last few months to design and launch the new website with plenty of new features (see below). The website will continue to provide Bronco fans with in-depth coverage while improving features and user-friendly site navigation.
