Softball Puts Away Two Wins For Fall Season

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara softball team came away victorious last weekend against Monterey Peninsula College. The Broncos won both games, 18-3, and 6-0.

In Game 1 versus the Lobos, junior Kaitlyn Rauschnot pitched for 5 innings. Rauschnot had 3 strikeouts for the game. Freshman Riley McKay pitched for the remaining two innings.

On the offensive side, freshman Morgana Dallas had three hits, including one home run, and four RBIs. Sophomore Jackie Nicora also had three hits and brought in two RBIs for the Broncos. Fellow sophomore Amanda Edmondson had two hits and two RBIs, while junior Megan Smith had two hits (one home run), and five RBIs.

Final score for Game 1 was SCU 18-3.

In the second game, freshman Ali Nash pitched a complete game. Nash had 6 strikeouts for the game and allowed only two hits and zero walks.

Freshman Kristin Welsh had two hits and two RBIs for the Broncos, while Smith had two hits and one RBI. Senior Emily had two hits, and Nicora had one hit and one RBI to bring the final score to 6-0 Broncos.

The Broncos will continue their fall season today versus San Jose City College at 2:00 p.m.

Nov. 6- Santa Clara Softball Golf Tournament at Coyote Creek Golf Course

Nov. 7- vs. Chabot College at 1:00 p.m. and vs. West Valley College at 3:00 p.m. (both games played at West Valley College)

Nov 14- doubleheader vs. Gavillan College at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
