Los Angeles, Calif.-- Playing in the final game of the Fullerton/UCLA Tournament, the Santa Clara softball team could not get anything going. The Broncos managed only one hit in the 7-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton in a rematch of the first game of the tournament.
Lauren Passafuime did not get out of the second inning, allowing four runs, three earned, in 1.1 innings work. Kaitlyn Rauschnot took over throwing the final 4.2 innings and gave up eight hits and three runs, two earned.
Centerfielder Ashley Grove had the team's lone hit of the game against Fullerton's Christine Hiner who threw the one-hit, seven inning shutout, striking out six along the way.
Santa Clara will be looking for their first win of the season next week at the Stanford Invitational where they will take on Pacific and Stanford in the first day of play.
